Expo 68 powerpack

Captain Scarlet wearing the hover pack and his colour-code helmet in 'Expo 68.

Hover pack

SPV Power pack unit

Also known as 'power pack' or 'thruster pack', the hover pack is powered by the electricity generated by the SPV power unit, driving high-speed compressors which in turn supply the Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) air-jets, with enough vertical-thrust to keep its wearer aloft at least eight hundred feet from the ground (as first seen in episode 1, 'The Mysterons').

There is enough energy stored in the hover pack to power external electric device, as seen in 'Expo 68', when Captain Scarlet used a jigsaw to cut through the side of a wooden crate.

The hover pack is made from conventional aircraft materials. Much like the radiocap, the colour-coded flight helmets for these Spectrum hover packs have internal microphone communications gear (with the microphone on the right-side of the face).

Personal respirator

Ochre and respirator

Captain Ochre wearing a respirator in 'Dangerous Rendezvous'.

respirator box

Worn over the nose, mouth and chin and held on by elasticised straps over the ears, this face-mask, made of a clear material, is connected to an oxygen container or oxygen diffusing device worn on the belt.

The respirators have communicators built in, which override the use of cap microphones if caps are also worn. For example, in the episode 'Avalanche', Captain Scarlet is seen wearing his respirator while talking to Colonel White on Cloudbase, without using his cap mike; neither was Lieutenant Green's when talking to Scarlet whilst also wearing his cap.

Air sampling device

Air sampling

This hand-held sensor is able to sense, measure, analyse, compare and identify air samples for ambient radioactivity, gravity fluctuations, element toxicity, pressure changes, and gas emissions.

As seen in episode 5, "Avalanche".

Spectrum issue spacesuit

Spacesuit helmet

The helmet, in the same episode. Note the antenna on the left side and the microphone.

Crater 101

Green, Scarlet and Blue wearing the spacesuit, in 'Crater 101'.

The Spectrum issue space suit is a bulky pressure-suits, of silver colour, with trims, belts and and helmet that match the colour-code of its wearer.

The helmet has a miniature built-in transceiver, connected to an antenna fit to the left side.

The spacesuit was seen in the TV episode 'Crater 1010', as well as in a number of comic strips from the Century TV21 magasine.

The spacesuit comes with a spacegun, which can be held in a colour-coded holster hanging from the belt.

Binoculars

Binoculars

Binoculars are standard part of Spectrum equipment, usually used during security, surveillance or search assignments.

As seen in episode 'The Trap'.
