Doc's CAPTAIN OCHRE Custom

Hi All,

Finally managed to finish Captain Ochre. It took me a couple of goes to get the armour right - she's far from perfect but she'll do for a first attempt. Plus I'm damn bored with working on her now..! Thanks again to Kambei for the inspiration!

Process (repost):

Finished Product:

Had to make a few sacrifices - wanted to include the original belt and holster for continuity and convenience so it looks a bit big and clunky, even after being cut down. I wanted to give her full range of arm movements so her the shoulders of her armour are a little small. The paint job on Lt Hitckcock's face is brilliant for the size, so I left her eyes blue for risk of messing it up. Did my best to get the armour smooth but with these big-@ss pics you can see every flaw..!
Ingredients:

HEAD: Seaquest DSV Lt Hitchcock with modified hair (originally used for my Serenity Angel, who has since bitten the dust - sticking to three 'new' Angels...)
TORSO/ARMS: Destiny Angel
LEGS: Capt Scarlet
BELT/HOLSTER/GUN/CAP: Capt Scarlet (modified to fit)

You turn up to the party and someone's wearing the same damn
outfit as you...

You have done a really good job on that figure. Nice work merging the two body types. The hips don't look as odd now that you have painted them in black and added the belt. Inspired use of the head. Looks spot on.

Thanks for the feedback guys! It makes all the hours of scraping moulding clay out of my nails worth it! :grin:

It's Terracotta Milliput Two Part Expoxy Putty if that helps (someone, may have been here, told me the red stuff dries better, but mainly it's cheaper...)

Gold's a helluva job but he'd look amazing in my collection if I could do him justice... have been busting to make a techie for a while now...think it may be on the way... any other ideas?

Hells bells! You can actually find Terracotta in a shop? :shock:

That stuff can be hard to find.

Just a little piece of advice. Use the superfine white. It might be more expensive but you can get far superior results with it. Plus the fact it is easier to drill, tap, sand and is not as brittle and is easier to work with.
2d piece of advice. DO NOT buy it from any large craft stores:

I have to agree with Doc. Apparently the sales on the books have been dismal, the show has disappeared without trace and the figures are not widely available. It doe not bode well for the continuation of the line. I keep my eyes open for news from the various toy fairs around the world, and there has been nothing new showing up that I can see. Another bad sign is if figure and collectibles ranges do not show up in the tarde magazines. There were no previews of the Scarlet figures.

It comes down to customizers like Doc to create their own. I know where Doc is coming from on this. I have the same bug.
