What is wrong with me?!
Moderator: Spectrum Strike Force
I can't believe myself!!! What is wrong with me!? I sort of love to hate her...I still slag her off at every oppurtunity, but...I shocked myself...
Anyway, to make this more of a topic, are there any characters you really didn't like, but you now do?
I'll be interested to hear this...

Edit: Okay, I'm starting to freak out over this, and I've decided that it is definately a 'love to hate her' thing. I want her to die a thousand horrible deaths, but I kinda want her around so I can be disgusted and slag off her 'romantic' ( ) moments. It's kinda like a sport (They should make it an Olympic event...Destiny Bashing...)

But I'm afraid Destiny and Blue will remain on my loathe and detest list forever.

I heard from Captain Blue that, until you've recovered, he feels it safer to stay away - but he's very concerned about you and sends his best wishes and hopes you get well soon....
On a more serious note - I shall have to think about that one....

Then once the series actually got under way and they developed him a bit more I found myself warming to him. Never going to be a patch on the original Blue, but hmm not so bad.
I don't mind NCS Ochre, purely in the abstract, strong likeable* female character is always fine by me. Still would have prefered that they kept the original Ochre in his capacity, and just added her in as a totally original character (i.e. Captain Sienna, or something).
To flip the question, Scarlet went down in my estimations as the series progressed [and there wasn't far to go - never really warmed to OCS Scarlet]. I'd hoped they'd make him a bit more 'human' and such; but then with the whole Destiny love angle thing it went too far.
*as opposed to Destiny Angel, ugh total Mary-Sue.

I thought Black was better - I loved that cynicism and dry - dare I say black ? - humour. OCS Black doesn't get to say much at all.
Scarlet - hmm - he was never my favourite but the new one just came over as a chump.
Destiny was - and remained - awful. Mind you, I haven't been able to bring myself to watch the new series all the way through again on my DVDs, so I guess that rather weakens my argument. Maybe, when you get over the shock of the new, she's no worse than annoying?
Colonel White didn't have the gravitas of the original, but he was tolerable - and some of the acerbity was still there.
Blue - oh dear. Well, I am a confirmed original Blue-phile, so anything was going to have a tough time being better - or even as good. For a start - the voice was never going to be as spine -tinglingly wonderful as Ed Bishop's.
However, the original badly-drawn Blue did improve in my estimation when they gave him some witty one-liners. That's not saying much, though.

When I first watched and recorded the series off Ministry Of Mayhem, it seemed to me that he was too gung-ho in character. Also, there seemed to be an inconsistency in the way his appearance was rendered on screen. The change in his hair colour in Instrument of Destruction 1 is well documented but his eyebrows seemed to be yellow in some episodes!
Now, with the benefit of the DVDs, I think that he looks a whole lot better and the rendering really is very good, better than Scarlet in my opinion. Also, although he is a different person to the character created by Ed Bishop, I do like him now and I can't think of someone I would rather have on my side.
The episode 'Storm At The End Of The World' is ranked highest on the TV.COM website and I think much of this is down to a great 'performance' by Captain Blue.

Same here.
...although it did kinda happen to me with Black...
I started of liking Scarlet but then I started to like Black... does this mean (in the CS universe) I'd probably end up working for him... and the Mysterons? *starts looking over shoulders*
that's madness with a little 'm'... as in 'crazy'...
