2 Years Later Reviews
Moderator: Spectrum Strike Force
Would people be interested in setting up a weekly discussion of each episode. We pick a week to start and each week (Starting on a Saturday) we watch the episode in question and then discuss and post mini reviews and observations.
I figured since the boards are kind of quiet that some people may like to do this. I know a few have been viewing the episodes for the first time lately and there is little discussion from people who have already seen it.
It would also be fun perhaps for people not to look at their previous comments and see if their new views have changed over time.
Anyone interested?
Not sure if we would start one thread (like this one) and do it there or go back to the individual episode reviews and continue the threads.

Can't say I will be able to watch an episode on any given day of the week, though. Have trouble fitting in watching world news ! I'm not bothered which board this goes on, maybe the Mods have an opinion on that.

Same with me, detail sometimes tends to pass me by too. I'd be up for this too. Whether that's to post observations of my own, or just to view other people's opinions, I'm not to concerned, but yes, we should go for it!

I would prefer if we started new topics for each episode, as with the old topic posts it could get a little confusing, but of course that's up to the Mods!
I can watch an episode a week definately. I watch them almost every night ( ) and am actually sad enough to have played bits back, or even slow-mo'ed it to get the little details (That's tragic. Remind me to crawl into a hole and die later... )
Thus! I know a lot of little details, and if that would help other 'budding fanfic writers', as Skybase Girl so rightly puts it (I'm the same...), I will post...some...

I felt that I wanted to respond to some of the comments, but it didn't seem appropriate more than two years later ! Nothing more has been said so far, about reviewing the episodes again, but I feel we ought to give it a go. I was inclined to agree with Hazel's comments about keeping the topic in it's original place, but looking at the number of pages for some of the reviews, I am beginning to think that might be not only impractical, but confusing.
I don't know, maybe people think that won't be a problem. So. if we want to do it, would anyone like to start the ball rolling ? ( Serena, you seem to be the resident expert , particularly in number of times each episode has been watched ! )

I know what you're getting at, Skybase Girl, that's what I meant, though I didn't write it. It would get rather confusing reposting on the same old threads, because they're sort of out of date and there are lots of pages. Can anyone clarify where they will go? Because if you do, I'll 'start the ball rolling'!
I think we should review the episodes in the actual order, not the MoM one. That is:
1. Instrument of Destruction- part 1
2. Instrument of Destruction- part 2
3. Rain of Terror
4. Mercury Falling
5. The Homecoming
6. Chiller
7. Rat Trap
8. Swarm
9. Circles of Doom
10. Trap for a Rhino
11. The Achilles Messenger
12. Skin Deep
13. Heist
14. Virus
15. Contact
16. Enigma
17. Best of Enemies
18. Proteus
19. Syrtis Major
20. Fallen Angels
21. Storm at the end of the world
22. Duel
23. Shape Shifter
24. Touch of the Reaper
25. Grey Skulls
26. Dominion
So...please can a Mod reply and assign a place? And assign a person in charge or something? I'm trying to make this less confusing!

I'd say - unless you hear otherwise from Colonel Chris - go ahead and start a new thread. You could continue in this one, of course, becasue you can specify the episode you're talking about in the subject title for the post (it doesn't have to follow the name of the thread) - or simply put it at the start of your message.
If the thread gets too long, or there is a discussion of an episode - there is an option to move the posts into a new thread... Hard to say if that will happen until you try.
Whatever you do - I suggest you make it clear this is a 2 year review, so that anyone looking for the original reactions can see the difference... eg: CHILLER - 2 YEAR REVIEW. - or whatever.
Have fun!
HOT OFF THE PRESSES !
Even as I was writing this reply, the Colonel - ever wise, ever generous! - was preparing a whole new board for the 2 year reviews! Use that one and ignore me...

We know Rain of Terror needed to be seen before Swarm ,for instance and that Touch of the Reaper should have been in the first "series" rather than the second, but I think there are others that may not be in the right place from a continuity point of view. I'm thinking plot and character development here.
For instance, I think Chiller should be seen farther down the line as it seems to imply that Destiny's relationship with Scarlet is more serious than it actually was at the time the episode was shown, particularly her comments about not realising she might lose him, and his declaration to never leave her.
I appreciate we'll have to agree on the running order, if we're going to dissect an episode each week, or whatever. Actually, despite my previous comments about lack of time to watch, we might need to do more than one per week. 26 weeks is an awfully long time to get to the end !
