NCS Soundtrack
Moderator: Spectrum Strike Force
Hi Guys,
Someone asked if the club would ever produce a soundtrack album for NCS. I can tell you that the composer, Crispin Merrell, and I have been working on - and have completed - just such a soundtrack album. It sounds fantastic, easily as good as any album I have done with Barry Gray's music, and we hope it will be released through Silva Screen. We still need to sort out all the
financial and contractual details, however I sincerely hope it will see the light of day in the not-too-distant future.
Once I have any further news I promise you'll read it here first.
Meanwhile, for those who didn't know, Joe 90 is out in April, and my partner Tim Mallett is completing work on Space: 1999 Year 2.
Ralph.
I was just thinking about the merchandise we would NEVER see from NCS and a soundtrack would be one of these - can't wait for it!!

Looking forward to the Joe 90 soundtrack though!

I do love Crispin's music in Space Precinct and prefer to see this happen but NCS will be just fine!!

Yes, I'd have to agree with that. It does nothing to explain what the series is about - anyone who didn't know from watching IoD 1 & 2 wouldn't get much help from the opening sequence.
The music I find instantly forgettable - I couldn't hum it now to save my life

Again, I really liked the music and it grew on me quickly. I am probably in the minority.

You might be at that Shadokp! Maybe it could be put to a vote? Here's one idea (no points for guessing where my thoughts lie)...
All those in favour of ditching the NCS Soundtrack in favour of a Space Precinct one - cast your votes now!
Well it was just a thought....

Winged Assassin wrote:What was disappointing is that Gerry is usually the king of the credit sequence - his shows normally grab you by the throat at this point.(sometimes there the best bit of the show!) So the NCS one of cut together clips and weak music made me wonder what had happened to his judgement.
I quite liked the opening credits, but I agree it's a shame they didn't stick to the plan and update each ep with a new clip from the previous episodes.
As to the score for NCS, I could just about hum the opening theme, but I don't think I'd ever particularly want to. Can't remember any of the other music from the show.

LOL I'll vote in favour
Not sure I've ever heard the space precinct one, but surely it can't worse than NCS. They were having a real off day when that was done.
