My favourite episode is "Trap For A Rhino" and the only things missing were Captain Black and a mysteronised Loch Ness Monster!

I wondered if this was a concept that Gerry had wanted for the classic series, but just couldn't do with the marionettes. After all, how many of us have speculated as to what happens to Scarlet's psyche when he's dead? Maybe it would be something that only happens during a prolonged death, which is why he had never experienced it before, but it doesn't mean that it can't happen again . Ooh, darn plot bunnies. No! I have exams! Someone take it away from me, quickly!
* An OBE was the best excuse I ever heard for failing an exam. One of my friends claimed it when she went totally blank on her English mock-GCSE.

Therefore, I guess I have to vote for 'Chiller' too. I have thought quite hard about it - as I was impressed by 'Mercury Falling', but Scarlet's descent from the telescope spoiled it for me - that has to be one of the most risible scenes in the whole series - in my opinion. (Before anyone gets too het up )
So, 'Chiller' it is then - if only for the wonderful reaction shots of Captain Blue as he decides he'd better follow Destiny down the corridor to ensure he gets his watch back!

Messenger had lots of good plot points and things can so easily be developed after it and it was a clever idea to begin with, although at the end, I thought Black should have taken a shot at Scarlet, surely if he had a chance to do that he would have done?
Chiller I liked, but it reminded me of quite a few Star Trek episodes where something happens to a character and they are sort of ghosts rather than being proper humans. Ah well, it was still a very enjoyable episode.
I can't help but think the series has still got a lot more to offer. I have loved the series so far, but some episodes are instantly forgettable.

Also of note is "Achilles Messenger" which had the same level of action and incredible animation along with a great story.
I am surprised to see my least favorite "Chiller" up on top of everyone's favorite. I found the characterization to be excellent but the story was a bit out there. Dr. Gold is virtually useless, quick to pronounce the indestructible Scarlet dead.

I take it all back. 'Achilles Messenger' is definitely fantastic. I would vote for it if I could.

But I corrected that for you - sort of! I did prefer Chiller over Achilles Messenger. But since you cast my vote for Chiller, I cast yours for Achilles Messenger. How's that?

I guess there ought to be another poll for the second series episodes - which, so far, I have real difficulty distinguishing one from the other and can't remember distinctly at all... might even have to look at my tape again and remind myself before I vote in that one...

I still like 'Chiller', but I thought that 'Achilles Messenger' was very well scripted and had a more adult concept than the other episodes. Very thought provoking indeed...
Oh, someone stop me thinking - I have a Chemistry exam tomorrow and an anatomy exam on Tuesday!
