2009 Christmas Challenge
Moderators: chrisbishop, Spectrum Strike Force
This is it, now: the last updates for this year's Christmas Challenge. And we have two stories for you to read this time around!
First: Marion Woods gives us her new entry for the 2009 Christmas Challenge, with "Tesseract". Captain Scarlet experiences an 'alternative' Christmas when a surprising visitor arrives.

And then my own story for this year - and again, I'm at the last minute:
"Many Happy Returns", by Chris Bishop. Spectrum just discovered that electricity is the Mysterons' Achilles' heel. But is it responsible for Captain Scarlet's current illness? This story is set directly after the TV episode "Operation Time".

And we also have some new additions for you on the Christmas Pictures page:

Now the Challenge is officially closed! But do come back to the website often for more stories to be posted in the following weeks!

I have read and enjoyed Chris's story - what a clever twist towards the end Great going, Colonel!
Thanks to everyone for their stories - I am sure there will be many more to come in the next few months as we wind up to the next big event.

Two fantastic stories to end the challenge.
As always, I am hugely impressed with Chris's abilty to blend pure science - fiction with characterisation - not the woodeness of the puppets as we saw them, but with the spirit that Gerry and Sylvia would have bestowed on them if they had been real. There is not a false note anywhere and it is a very neat and plausible take on the consequences of a particular OCS episode. Thought-provoking, indeed.
Marion, when I stop crying, I will let you have a rational response to "Tesseract".
Kidding aside, as always, the reader is swept along on a tide of emotion. Brilliantly written and complex - I will have to take a little time to process it.
All in all, it's been a great challenge. Good to see some great stuff posted and thanks to Chris for her selflessness at the expense of her own work.

However the jewel in the crown had to be the calendar - 12 months of delights ...

The calendar is marvellous, as usual. Well done, as always, to Caroline and cohorts, who have produced a lasting ( and useful) piece of fan art.

And if I haven't already done so, I want to thank Colonel Chris for providing the marvelous music to accompany the Powerpoint Presentation. ( I could watch and listen all day....)
