Update (sort of) and Glaring Omissions
Moderators: chrisbishop, Spectrum Strike Force
it's been a while and I've been very busy. Unfortunately, most of these chores I busied myself with were not related to any Anderson Fan Film. I am devoting all my spare time to experimenting, trying to find out how to replicate certain pure Anderson effects with the technology available. Right now, I've finished up a 5-second clip of three Angel Interceptors blowing up some houses visible from my bedroom window. As soon as I've found a proper compressor I'll post it on Youtube and alert you all. Proper result WILL come.
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could help me with something. Obviously I own Silva Screen's Captain Scarlet soundtrack. This mostly magnificent disc continues to irritate me with the fact that, among others my three favourite cues from the series are missing.
1. 'alien' Mysteron theme
First heard in the very first scene of the very first episode, this haunting version of the Mysteron theme has always been the most terrifying, and, well, the most alien to me. Mysteriously absent.
2. 'modular' Spectrum theme
This one's heard throughout the series, mystifying me even more over it's absence. It consists of a staccato build-up culminating in a beautiful rendition of the Spectrum theme. Example: It is heard in 'Fire at Rig 15' at the moment the oil storage tank lowers into the ground to reveal an SPV.
3. 'stalking' Theme
Another scary Mysteron cue, the most intimidating and foreboding in the show. I'll once again use 'Fire at Rig 15' for this one. It's heard the moment that Charlie notices something is seriously wrong with the oil pressure gauge, and the moment that Captain Black is staring at Jason Smith in the inferno.
There's loads more I sincerely miss. These peaces of music were some of the most iportant to me in the show, and I would love to use them in an upcoming CS fan film. As I know absolutely nothing about audio editing, I was wondering, is there someone around here who could 'rip' some of that music from the DVD for me? Is it even possible? I would truly appreciate it.
