Who is the most handsome? (OCS)
Moderators: chrisbishop, Spectrum Strike Force
Have just gone with the cloudbase captains; though for the obligatory 'other' just state your choice in the thread.
Everyone is of course also welcome to champion their 'beau' of choice.

Sage, you might rise the ire of some of your co-members by not including Lieutenant Green - and I can think of ONE member who might have voted for Colonel White.
Don't know if anyone fancies Doctor Fawn...
Or Captain Black

Don't think many of the votes will come as suprises.
True
I tried to put 'other' but it decided not to work (have never done a poll here before, so hmm).
Guess the whole show is just a smorgasboard of hotness, lol
Aww poor Fawn, makes me want to write an appreciation fic for him.
Yeah I'm guessing the 'minion of evil aliens' thing is a bit of a turn off with Black.

Ooh let me thinking ... surely not Blue.
Did have a rather Freudian* crush on him as a kid, and thought he was the all round best guy. Your fic is definetly aiding and abeting keeping that going.
Though I have defected just slightly, and am also rooting for Ochre. That might be the result of fanon [gotta love a guy with a sense of humor] for the most part, but yes he is rather easy on the eye.
Haven't actually voted myself, because they all so lovely and it's impossible to choose.
*my father is also tall, blond and blue eyed.

It must be the fact that Captain Blue is - as Father Unwin says - 'beautifully voiced by Ed Bishop' that makes me go all weak at the knees.

And as I'm insatiable he's closely followed by tall blonde and handsome Captain Blue of the equally stomach-fluttering accent .

Though I will say that all of the Spectrum men-folk have qualities to be admired (perhaps explored, as well) and who, after all, can resist some of those lovely accents?
And in keeping with Carrie's sentiment about maintaining Family Values, I shall stop there, too.

Carrie wrote:Captain Ochre gets my number one vote and I can't say any more than that as this is a family show. I love his voice too, as portrayed by Jeremy Wilkin, who coincidently, voiced Virgil in the last six episodes of TB and in T6 the movie, but you probably knew that anyway, DartBrat
You know it!
I must confess however, I especially loved that honey-butter voice of Wilkin's predecessor on Thunderbirds, David Holliday.

Human nature can be fickle and I was wondering how people would feel about Scarlet and Blue if the series had been "Captain Blue and the Mysterons" and Scarlet had been the Number 2, so to speak. Would Scarlet have been more appealing and Blue less so - or not?
That's an interesting question. For me - I simply don't find the Scarlet 'puppet' appealing - and I never have. I think I might have warmed to Captain Scarlet as the handsome hero if the 'Ochre' puppet had been cast as Paul Metcalfe - I like the 'Ochre' puppet
Even so, I find it hard to empathise with a hero who is as humourless as Scarlet appears to be in the TV shows - I find him priggish and patronising. In the 60's - when my critical faculties almost certainly functioned on less sophisticated levels - I simply found him unappealing to look at.
Blue I always did like to look at - and I loved his voice even then . If he had been the hero, I might have sighed and thought 'another sop to the American audience', but as I never batted an eyelid over the juvenile leads in Stingray and Thunderbirds all being Americans, that might not have bothered me.
If it had been the puppet cast as Scarlet - with Francis Matthews's voice (which I also admire) and the same characteristics as TV Scarlet displays - I may very well have been young and impressionable enough to think - he's so handsome, I don't care... although as a mature woman - I now deplore the very thought that I would have been so callow!

In the abstract I can see the appeal of Scarlet. He is textbook tall/dark/handsome etc, which is fine but doesn't really do anything for me personally.
That and his whole humourless patronising 'you know I'm right' attitude has always really grated. So will gravitate toward the other characters (as you may have noticed in my fics).
Not sure how I'd have taken Blue as protagonist, because part of the reason I connected with him was that he was 'the side kick' (various personal reasons there). Just couldn't imagine him in that leadership capacity, as that would be so diffrent from the established dynamics between him & Scarlet. That aside I think if their general personalities remained then I would still feel the same.
