R.I.P Sir Roger Moore
Moderators: chrisbishop, Spectrum Strike Force
Even in old age, he retained his self-deprecating sense of humour and never took himself or his fame seriously at all. Still working into his 90th year, he'll be a big miss to the entertainment industry. Godspeed, sir. Martinis everywhere will be shaken, not stirred.

I was a great fan of The Persuaders too, (being a little young for the Saint) and loved the repartee between the two leads.
I'm not normally one for autobiographies, but I did enjoy Sir Roger's book 'Last Man Standing' in which his self-deprecating, witty and humourous nature shone throughout. His later work for Unicef also showed he was a compassionate individual.
I think these are two of my favourite quotes of his:
‘My acting range has always been something between the two extremes of “raises left eyebrow” and “raises right eyebrow”
‘Of course I do my own stunts. And I also do my own lying.’
Another icon departed.
