Rescue 4
Moderator: Spectrum Strike Force
Now the question you asked in the e-mail. I'm quite unable to answer it, but maybe there is someone out there that might be.
Here it is:
"[...] In the excellent book by Chris Bentley "The Complete Gerry Anderson,'' he writes about unrealized projects, including one called Rescue 4. It sounded like it would have been a fascinating series that would have incorporated the rescue aspects of Thunderbirds with the outer space sci fi of Space:1999. It still has tremendous potential today in my opinion. What I'm wondering is if there are any pre-production drawings for the show, especially the Recue 4 vessel itself? Thank you, Mike P"
If any one can answer Mike's question, please, put your reply here or forward it to me to spectrum_hq@hotmail.com and I'll make sure our friend receive it.

I believe Martin Bower made the model for presentation to the TV execs so perhaps Martin has some photos still. There's not a picture on his website though.

I just bought a run of Starlog magazines from the period Yorkie mentions, with some very nice features, as well as Gerry Anderson's regular 'Space Report' (primarily about 'Space:1999' but there's also one about 'Starcruiser', and another about the JIF 'Alien Attack' advert) - I'll see if I can find the Rescue 4 one.

I think there was a schematic of the ship, and a couple of small b/w storyboard images. It was quite an early one, possibly 2, 3 or 4. I can check definitely when I get home...

Apparent most of the stuff is courtesy of Phil Rae, so maybe he's the person to ask...
