It's a shame they didn't use the NCS characters to make new stories. It would have been rather easy to take the CGI characters and pose them in the desired scene to create scenes and take pictures. It might have happened if the series had better publicity and followship?

The weather thing was a good episode, action-packed and involved everyone. I have a hard time with the space elevator cable, though. The length required, the fact that the elevator would probably swing wildy about most of the time, and the strain put on the whole thing when it's latched onto its docking station on Tracy Island... suspend of disbelief is one thing, but...

I can't believe there's only two episodes left before we have to wait until next fall for new ones!

Carlton/ITV must know something we don't about breaking up the series in two. They've already commissioned the next series for 2016/2017 (starting in the fall and continuing from the looks into 2017). This year being Thunderbirds' 50th it'd be nice to get some stuff on TV. I'd go to the Fanderson thing this weekend but I'm working which is a bummer as I'd love to meet Shane Rimmer in particular.

If we believe Wikipedia:

Series 1 consists of 26 episodes split into two 13 episode chunks broadcast during 2015 with a 13-week gap between the two halves. Repeats of the first 13 episodes will be broadcast during the 13 week gap.

and for series 2:

A second series is expected to broadcast between Autumn 2016 and Spring 2017. The second series will also consist of 26 episodes making a 52 episode total.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunderbir ... (TV_series)

Which is, really, REALLY hopeful that there is indeed a future for Anderson-related shows still on TV!

This fan - who has been able to see all the episode of the new series so far and who is enjoying it tremendously! - is also hopeful that the new interest shown into Thunderbirds are Go! might translate into a revival of sort for Captain Scarlet. That might be a follow up to the 2005 series, if they kept any of the original templates... Or maybe something new, who knows?

For now, I'm enjoying the ride provided by "Thunderbirds are Go!" My DVD copies is already pre-bought from Amazon, so I'll have the renewed pleasure to watch it all over again... Until Fall, when the next 13 episodes will be available!

I remain hopeful for ol' Troy Tempest to return.

I haven't seen Episode 12 on Toonova or the ITV player... did they change the broadcast schedule again?

The last one I saw was episode 11, last week-end. I think episode 12 will be for next week-end?

Matt - Yes, Stingray would certainly be interesting! But I was wondering if by any chance Fireball XL5 might not stand a better chance of a revival. ;-$ This is the space era - heck, the STAR WARS era, and there's loads of aliens that could be created for the show! Kids love space, and the original series might have been more aimed at a young audience that its successors (Stingray, Thunderbirds, the much more adult Captain Scarlet). I would play it much like the Thunderbirds are Go series. Very caricatural-looking characters, with the same kind of mix of special effects and miniatures...

And it'd be in colours, week after week...

it aired as usual here. It's been fairly consistent unlike New Captain Scarlet. It's at least not been swallowed in a 'magazine' programme.

And yes, Chris, XL5 would be alright. I'm sure I heard Space 1999 was being rebooted (as Space 2099)...or a Joe 90 movie. Who knows. I'd like some Thunderbirds50 stuff here but I don't think we'll get much beyond the new series. Still hopeful for Jeff to return voiced by Shane Rimmer.

This week, they had a continuity with the guy and his flower... and the Hood was back. Are they preparing some sort of build up for episode 13? Maybe they'll hint at Jeff being somewhere? Although considering Jeff is a Tracy, he would have tried to escape or do something at this point, wouldn't he?

Maybe he's stuck on a desertic Pacific Island...

Oh wait... We're talking about a guy who can give the Professor from Gilligan's Island a run for his money... Maybe he would be able to make a communication device with a coconut...

I'm not going to say that perhaps Jeff had just had enough of Alan... because, as I haven't seen the new one it is just possible that the 'new' Alan isn't as annoying as the old one? Well, I can live in hope...

Um... 'new' Alan is also rather annoying I'd say. I think he's supposed to be the one the younger audience can relate to, with him complaining about homework, and space boarding ( ). Maybe he'll mature in the future seasons of the series?

Maybe Jeff is really hiding somewhere on the island and this is all a big test to see how long it will take the boys to find him.... it's really strange though how they didn't really say anything about what happened, or what they think happened. It's as if they expect the audience to forget Jeff was ever there.

It is a common scenario in children's literature (and entertainment) that parents are an irrelevance: look at the plethora of boarding school books, or kids who are orphaned, abandoned (however temporarily) or from broken homes. Even where the children are from 'stable' backgrounds, their parents are often merely bit part players whose absence is never remarked upon and who arrive at the end to congratulate the children and provide sticky buns for tea.
This allows the young heroes to be adventurous, self-reliant and inventive, while not having to pay any attention to boring grown-up concerns such as health and safety, legality or (in some cases) common sense. Children 'doing it for themselves' is an established tradition, so perhaps Jeff is just a victim of that?

Well, no Jeff in the last episode for the first season... Good team work from all the brothers, good episode, but it didn't feel like a season finale somehow.

Special mention to Brains, who made the effort to wear Cologne. Alan had a few good lines as well.

I don't know if this was intended, but when I saw the astronauts aboard the international space station, the first thing that came to mind was : Chris Hadfield!!!

I think Jeff must still be alive, somehow and somewhere. Sort of feels like he's lurking on the horizon. As long as it's not like Jim Phelps in the first Mission Impossible film where he's a villain.

As for the last episode of this run, probably the most original use of Thunderbird 4 ever seen and its most out of water viewing since Terror in New York City.

Also, if ever an episode of the new series needed Barry Gray's incidental than this was it. Could not help but imagine the Fast Music as TB1 and the mini-Fireflash dropped like stones (or even the dramatic part of "Astronauts In Trouble" from the film Thunderbirds Are Go) and perhaps that triumphant music from Sun Probe (et al episodes) where Thunderbird 3 finally breaks from the sun for when TB1 and the plane break clear of the gravity well. Maybe someone with talents on YouTube can crack that nut.

It's not been a bad run. I just hope when it returns in the autumn it's not forgotten or it's re-promoted so for one I know when to set my box but also it gets a bigger viewing.

Forgot to say how last weeks episode with Plant Man how the underwater machine he piloted reminded me of Crablogger. Still rooting for a rebooted Sidewinder perhaps. Or how I'm not used to TB5 being so animated, forgive the pun. In the original it's usually seen from the same angle and immobile.

Something I noticed in this last episode... Brain's old research colleague seemed to know he was working with International Rescue, so is this much like what happened in NCS? The secrecy isn't all that important anymore? They're just an elite rescue (or anti-terrorism in the case of NCS) team that you call upon when you need help?
