I would like to see a story that filled in all the gaps in what we know about Spectrum, the Anderverse and the characters - especially smoothing out the inconsistances.
It would answer all the 'but thens' and the 'how could they haves' and be entertaining, fascinating, exciting, romantic and VERY long.
And not written by me. ROFL.

That was exactly what I was trying to do when I wrote "Chance for a Lifetime." It was obvious there was a time lag between the first and second episodes, and a lot of questions had to be answered before Scarlet would even be considered trustworthy, let alone welcomed back into an important Spectrum field operation. I tried to answer as many as I could, and I hope the result was satisfactory. I did write out my list of questions in an old issue of APA-Century 21; I'll have to dig it out sometime and add some "author's notes" to the end of the story.

A fist-fight between OCS Scarlet and NCS Scarlet. Who would win?
NCS!!! All he would have to do is be armed with a pair of scissors to cut OCS strings. The poor guy would fall to the floor, helpless.
She peered at it.
"You're going to tell me that it encapsulates the eternal struggle between The Pussycat Dolls and Girls Aloud, aren't you?"

I don't think being armed with a pair of scissors constitutes a fist-fight to start with, and would merely show that NCS Scarlet is a far less noble and principled person than OCS Scarlet...
Come that - ie: fighting dirty - OCS Scarlet would only have to push the large red button labelled (as they always are) 'Delete' and NCS would be consigned to the recycle bin of eternity.

McGee went to MIT too, so yes total computer geek, which is his charm really. He can hold his own with the marines, ex-cops etc he interacts with (in this case as a field agent investigating crime in the US navy) but is still a bit of a 'fish out of water'. That seems far more plausable than for Scarlet to have gone from geek to 'James Bond' in presumably only a decade. Why would Spectrum even want/need* an astrophysicist in the first place?
Would it be possible to do a CS x NCIS? (NCIS is my favourite CSI type show too)... It would certainly make Dr. Gold's job easier... (he states in Rat Trap that that sort of thing is not his speciality)
CS is already a James Bond style show... although Scarlet does sleep with every girl he sees ... in some fan fics it seems like CS would be able to handle a martini (I just about managed a sweet martini the other night) whilst on duty... thanks to his retrometabolism.
that's madness with a little 'm'... as in 'crazy'...

Not on screen he doesn't - I don't know where you got that idea from...

OCS Scarlet always struck me as more of a loner; his powers prompting him to distance himself from people, and making relationships problematic. He also seems too principled for one night stands.

I have considered that as an idea, because it has a lot of potential. A showdown between Gibbs & Colonel would be fun.
Only problem is that the series are set 60 years apart, so am not sure how to make it believable in that respect. Unless you just ignore that, and write as if they coexist.

Must be one of the parts that are edited out of the show ....
I must have been thinking of what I was typing afterwards... what I meant to type was "although Scarlet doesn't sleep with every girl he sees".

Mind you, it occurs to me that Scarlet isn't very lucky with his lady friends - in either series (as far as we know). It must be his ineffable charm.
It is really only when FanFic kicks in that he becomes Mr Lover-Boy par excellence!

Indeed, it is only in the fanfic's that Scarlet's romantic side and what have you becomes obvious. It seems in the series he has other things on his mind. You know, being indestructible is a full time occupation.
