THE GHOST OF A CHANCE - Scarlet Lady
Moderators: chrisbishop, Spectrum Strike Force
The story is different to anything I've ever read before, it's the first time Captain Scarlet's ever met a ghost that I know of. Scarlet Lady leaves a lot of her story up to the reader to think about, which can make her style seem a bit lazy, and that made me miss what she actually does, while she's writing. She gives nothing away and plays her cards close to her chest, maybe a bit too close, sometimes.
Marty Hopkirk was handled really well, I remember watching Randal and Hopkirk and he wasn't much different to the way Scarlet Lady wrote him. Captain Scarlet seemed to overreact with him a lot more than I would have expected though. Maybe he was meant to be unsettled by him, and frustrated that nobody else could see him, but it's hard to tell because she never explained what was actually going on inside his head. Anyway, the story is a lot better than it was the first time I read it, it's a shame that there wasn't a bit more detail so that some parts are clearer though.
