And our second story is a reposting. Written in 2002 by your truly, this was one of the first Halloween story to this website. It was revised, with new material for this reposting:
MASTER OF THE NIGHT
by Chris Bishop. Revised version. During a furlough, Captain Scarlet, Captain Ochre, Rhapsody and Melody, visit Rhapsody’ eccentric cousin in Maine and end up spending a night of terror while facing a creature hungry for their blood. ff 78
In the next weeks, we'll have other stories to offer you! So come back soon for more!

This week, just as last week, we offer to you one new story, as well as a revised version of a much loved story, posted a few years ago.
Our new story:
A HALLOWED NEW MOON
by VMR. Sometimes it doesn’t pay to be good-looking and the best. As a victory dinner doesn’t finish how it should, will it cause the careers of two captains to end? ff 557
VMR has started submitting stories to this website only last year, by entering her first Halloween Challenge then. This story is her ninth contribution to the website.
Our reposted story:
CORDYCEPS
by Marion Woods. Revised version. When Captain Scarlet accompanies Doctor Fawn on a medical mission, neither man has any concept of the danger they will have to face. Strong language. ff 409
Cordyceps was originally posted October 3, 2009, and from the moment it was posted, it was hailed as one of the most horror-based story submitted for the Halloween Challenge.

First, our new story this is is the second Halloween fan fiction story submitted by Cat 2 this year:
THE CHEST OF DRAWERS
by Cat 2. Captain Scarlet's gift of a chest of drawers to Destiny doesn't exactly please her... But someone else is even less happier when old linen sheets are removed from it. (New Captain Scarlet story) ff 558
Our second story is also a New Captain Scarlet story. It missed last year's deadline for the Challenge and consequently, the story was posted outside of the challenge. However, I promised to post it anew for this year's Challenge and here it is now!
THE DOUBLE MYSTERY
by Adam Blue. Ochre tells Scarlet and Blue the story of a strange murder investigation from her past. Halloween Challenge ff 550 New Captain Scarlet story. Originally posted May 26, 2014

As always, a brand new story. This one is the follow up to "A Hallowed New Moon", written by VMR:
A DIVINE QUEST
Captain Blue makes a desperate gamble to help Captain Ochre and Captain Grey. It might cost him more than he imagines. ff 559
And the second one, is a yet again a reposting, of a revised story that was originally published in 2006, and which is written by Caroline Smith. For the occasion, the background and title art was changed:
SHIFTING SANDS
Captain Ochre recounts a traumatic event from his teenage years. Rated R. ff #290.
Next week-end, the 13th edition of the Halloween Challenge will end, with new stories offered to you!

This is the last posting for the 13th edition of the Halloween Challenge! And this time, we have FOUR BRAND NEW stories to offer you, so that the challenge finishes on a high note!
Marion Woods offers us this year TWO stories. The first features characters created by Marion for other stories submitted to this website:
CATS
Someone must take over duty in the Control Room while the senior staff holds an Halloween party... And sometimes, to get into the spirit like everybody else, there's nothing better than telling a true story... ff 560
The second tackles a Scottish legend:
THE CRYPTID
Humans still have a lot to learn about their world. Just ask Captain Grey, Ochre or Scarlet. ff #561.
For our third story, Cat2 offers us her last New Captain Scrarlet ghost story for this year's challenge:
JUST A DRILL
It is Halloween, and the staff of Cloudbase participate to an exercise which might have dire consequences to Captain Scarlet. ff 562
And finally, I provided myself the fourth and final story our this week:
OF MONSTERS AND MEN
by Chris Bishop. In pursuit of terrorists near the North Pole, Captain Scarlet unexpectedly met a very strange and bitter individual who views this encounter as an invasion of his privacy. ff 563
I know there were other stories announced, however, circumstances didn't permit for them to be completed. So you'll have to wait a little longer to read them!
And so that's it, folks! With these four postings, the Halloween Challenge is completed! And what is next, you might ask? Well of course, you can guess that the CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE is coming!
Check these pages soon for the official announcement!
