UPDATES: May 2012
Moderator: Spectrum Strike Force
Let's start, with some of the visible changes.
All the buttons on the main pages of "Skybase Central" were replaced. The sub-section now sports the same coloured buttons as Spectrum HQ. More cosmetic than anything, the change doesn't bring new link to Skybase Central, but does improve the look of the pages.

The Guestbook, which had been taken down recently, has been replaced by a new guestbook. Instead of being hosting on a third-party website, this new guestbook is now fully integrated to Spectrum Headquarters. It is more secured, with a CAPCHA system, and a security question that should help keeping spammers at bay, and offers the possibility for visitors to post smileys with their message. The previous messages, recovered from the taken down guestbook, will be kept as Archives and a link will soon be added to the guestbook to access them. Other than this, other changes that may occur to the Guestbook will be mostly cosmetic.

In the Fan Fiction section, two new additions have been applied. First, links were added to the authors' names on all the page where the stories are listed with names. Each link gives instant access to respective "Author pages", where all the stories written by a given author have been listed... and so, access to these other stories themselves.
The second change is more visible: a rating system was added to the Fan Fiction section. It is NOT a system to rate the quality of stories, but rather, something to inform readers of presence of bad language, and of various levels of violence, horror and adult situations in a given story. The information comes in forms of icons attached to the title. A table is accessible from the top and bottom of each Fan Fiction page, to help understand the meaning of each icon, and each has been given a 'tag' (words appearings when you put your mouse cursor over an image) that summarises its meaning. The rating is colour-based and gives three levels to violence, horror and adult situations, while 'bad language' is a unique icon. As a bonus, two additional icons were also added, informing readers if the story is set in the original "Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons" series, or the CGI "New Captain Scarlet" series.

I want to thank both authors for their patience, while waiting that the new improvements to the Fan Fiction section were being made, before they would be able to see their stories posted on this website.

Scarlet Lady
For this week's new updates:
First:
Scarlet Lady's story "The Ghost of a Chance", and the entire "Lieutenant Lake Series" have now found a niche on Spectrum Headquarters. For this occasion, the stories have been visually revamped to adapt to the new reality of widescreen monitors. The same was done to all the stories written by Scarlet Lady and hosted within this website. It's for you the occasion to discover, or re-discover, these stories, that you can access through Scarlet Lady's page:

Secondly:
On Skybase Central, a page entirely devoted to SKYBASE has been posted, in the "Craft and Equipment" section. Filled with loads of information taken from various official sources and from the TV series itself, this page will tell you all you ever wanted to know or learn about Skybase:

On this occasion, I wish to thank Brindlewhite for her help in putting up this page, and for providing some of the many pictures to illustrate it - most you might not find anywhere but here! Also, thanks to Marion Woods for her precious beta-reading!
Come back next time for more!
