I would think that unless NCS is handled as badly as it was in the UK, the series has every chance to do well. This is reliant on a showing at a reasonable time on a reasonable channel with reasonable promotion. If those are done right, then NCS should have an easy time to do better in the US than UK.

I would think that NCS would have to do spectacularly well in order to warrant more seasons. A station like Nickelodeon or Sci-Fi may just be happy with 26 episodes and perhaps a cut of the DVD sales. Why invest in an expensive series unless everyone is watching. (If NCS does pretty good - it may increase chances that Lightspeed is picked up in America or maybe even co-funded by Sony!!)

Two huge negatives - first off, the US Sony deal seems to have stalled. They were keeping an eye on how well the series did on ITV and since it didn't show anything positive in the ratings, Sony and whoever gets it may be reluctant in showing it at prime times. Look at Doctor Who - it is a ratings sucess and the US still has not picked it up. (of course I think if handled well, NCS can be accepted by more Americans than Doctor Who as it seems to fit into the US TV formula much better than Who.)

The other negative has to do with the last Gerry Anderson series to make it over here - Space Precinct. I followed the progress in America and was disgusted at how the series was dropped into the worst time slots possible. All this postive hoping for a reasonably good show (in my opinion) and all for nothing as the series failed to perform (at 2 in the morning!!).

NCS is far from dead as new life may come out of Japan and/or the US and Canada.

I finally got to watch it today - and I agree with nice-captainscarlet - it was a poor story.
Crank said:
I loved it when Blue smashed into that building. It's an old gag to have something mad happen and then have the character involved say some flippant line afterwards, but it was used to good effect here.

Regarding Crank's comment - it was a very effective way of avoiding Blue's death in a crash - but he might have least advised the woman (who seemed to be the colonel's daughter doing a little moonlighting) to evacuate the building in case anything exploded. 10/10 for sang-froid - 0/10 for concern for innocent civilians!

The colonel tells Scarlet not to shoot down the helicopter in case the 'nerve agent' is aboard and Blue says they don't know who has the weapon - yet Ochre blasts the motorbike off the road - chances are the 'agent' would've been spread from that accident to. I'm surprised the bike rider - without even a helmet, was conscious after the crash... perhaps not only Scarlet is indestructible?
His sixth sense for Mysteron replicants is sadly out of order when he chases his 'informer' in the desert too...
Nice to see Captain Black back again - even if he was merely messing about playing bison-tag with Scarlet....

Kinggodzillak says: Why is Blue doing a Lloyd Grossman impression in the final scene?

Yeah, I thought New-Blue came from Texas?

Did anyone else want to puke at the end scene? And I quote...

'Dance with me Paul under the light of the earth...'

Eww! I mean, pass the sick bucket! The Serena and Adam bit was OK (I'm a big supporter of this Ship...obviously...) but it went way downhill afterwards...
Good episode in all. I had a laugh at the Spectrum female bathing suits. So did my mom, when I sat her down and forced her to watch it. I know this is meant to be a kids show, so Destiny and Green couldn't be kitted out in bikinis (Though I'm sure some of you would like that... ), but you're not exactly going to get a good tan in those top and short sets! Arms, legs, and one broad line around your middle! Charming...
