During the whole episode I kept on expecting Captain Blue to make moves on Destiny

Nah, I suspect even Badly-Drawn-Blue has more taste than that...
Not a bad episode though - quite inventive and 'slightly creepy' was how my daughter described it.
I quite enjoyed seeing them all eulogise over Scarlet whilst he stood listening.... and it was nice of him not to let on at the end that he knew exactly what they'd been saying :D - a definite glint of humour there...
Definitely one of the better ones....

Very good episode, one of the better ones.

One thing I found interesting was that Destiny was way more upset with Scarlet dying than she was when Black died.
I argee it was kind of creepy and a bit depressing.
The voice acting was better than usual and you could detect the sadness in there voices.

I also thought the ending was quite funny. :)

I thought it was really good! Slightly spooky in a good way. It's great to see them try something that could never have been done in the classic series!
I still can't get over Scarlet's accent though. Or Destiny's. Or that look on Blue's face when Dr. Gold first told them that Scarlet was dead. I mean, they actually managed to make him look more depressed than usual. I didn't think that was possible.

Well done to whoever did the expression on the guy pushing the gurney at the beginning - that was perfect!

Yes..I liked this episode…It had a good feel to it…Excellent dialogue scripting...there is a real emergence of characterisation...I especially liked Scarlet's parting shot to the baddie's exit from Skybase...'hope your 'chute fails...'
My only quibbles... the voice-overs still sound like a little like they’re talking from a script…but maybe that’ll improve with time…
I was also intrigued to know what caused Scarlet’s ‘ghostliness’…rather a shame we didn’t get an explanation at the end….Did he in fact remember all that had happened to him?
And yes..Captain Indigo...I heartly agree about the technician's expression...priceless..as were some of the expressions on Scarlet's face when he found out he was a ghost! Good work guys!

At the time I was watching it, it never occured to me that he didn't know what had happened - but it might be the case, I suppose. I shall have to re-watch it and see if I get the same impression :) I agree it would have been nice to have had an explanation of why he went all ghostly - but maybe they couldn't think of one?
I am glad that this time we didn't get time spent on car chases, acrobatics or gymnastics - just story, which built very nicely into an interesting situation.
There were some niggling bits - what was going on with Blue's watch? (btw - I loved his expression when Destiny told him to stay behind if he was that sceptical while she went following Scarlet's trail!)
But, overall more to praise than to lament at in this one...

Yes, one of the best episodes so far, I think. I've not been terribly impressed with Phil Ford's scripts, although I suppose he's no worse than some of the writers of the original scripts. They could be pretty clonky at times, too.
I watched it again this morning, and still can't decide whether Scarlet remembers what he did as a ghost or not. I feel that this is probably down to the acting rather than the script, though.

Chiller was a superb episode that in its effortless mix of thrills, excitement, unexpected developments and general weirdness was 1000 times better than anything in the original series. Also did anyone else notice how effective the character/facial animation seemed in conveying emotions? The distress felt by the team at Scarlet's 'death' really came through quite strongly. This was a great, great episode and the only criticism I can make of the new show is that it isn't twice as long as it is. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait for the DVD. :D

Another good point was you actually got the feeling that Spectrum is a real organization which employes 100s or 1000s of people. Having an engineer betray them helped.

Yeah totally agree with everyone else's comments. :)
Overall an excellent story. The premise and plot were really interesting.
The ending was too abrupt though. Which seems to be a reoccuring theme.

A 1000 times, really?

I contest that claim.

Actually you're right. What I should have said is that it was a million times better than anything in the original. Thanks for jogging my memory on that one, Chris.

We had already established that both series have their respective qualities and faults - should we start each time a new episode - which will be hailed as the best one so far in the series - will be aired?

However - I nearly finish viewing the first seven episodes of the CGI series, and I can think of a good numbers of reasons WHY I don't feel it is SO MUCH superior to the classic series. I don't dislike it, mind you. It just isn't the same feeling of awe I have with the classic series. The graphic is superb, I'll give it that.

Give me time to finish the tape, and I'll glady gives you my thoughts on those first episodes. Granted, the series is not finished yet, and there is good chances it will evolve and become better with time. But so far, I have yet to see it getting the better hand on the classic series.

Granted, it's easy to see the instant appeal of the new series. But I find it so much more obvious than the original. With the original series, the subtleties and dark scripts more than compensated for the limited animation possibilities. This new series seems to rely rather too heavily on animation as a distraction against weak storylines.

I will accept that this weeks story was a 1000 or even a million times better than what has gone before it. But, better than the original series? Not so far, I'm sorry to say.

Oh, start what, exactly? All I'm doing is expressing my opinion and it's my opinion that Chiller was an extremely inventive story that outshone anything in the original. If you don't agree with that then fine, I'm not going to insult you or anything! But equally I'm not going to back off saying so just because it ruffles the feathers of a few die-hard fans. And besides, what's wrong with comparisons between the two series? Or is it only okay to do so when it takes the form of sniping at the new version while praising to the skies everything in the original? Look, I can imagine how much it must pain you that someone out there doesn't regard the original as the best thing Gerry's ever done but, hey, that's life.
