Also to mention Scarlet's continuing aerobics, interesting I'll say. What would be good, is in a future episode if the bad guy of the episode (maybe Black or not) is walking down this road, suddenly a cat screeches lights go on and there's Scarlet standing there. Fires once, bad guy dead.

Maybe?

…subtitled ‘Misery Loves Company’.
Not bad, but what IS it with Blue and Destiny?? What a pair of whingers! That flying sequence where the lifting body detached reminded me of Zero X too. I’m not sure Destiny should be allowed near any craft - she jinxes them.
It was good to see Black in uniform.

dang I'm such a nerd for goofs.

after black smashed scarlet with that lap top where did all the bits go :?

then after that (ok kids this is a wee bit confuzzling but here goes).
black shoots a hole in the door/wall he jumps through the hole and we see he is in a corridor. right? scarlet runs jumps through the hole and ends up out side. no corridor. whats with that?!

i think black would have been screwed if scarlet had trudden on him when he were hiding in the sand. owwies :( .

btw who was in the rhino with scarlet ?, i was outta the room at that point and too far away from the tv.

Right, I only saw this for the first time this morning (or, rather, yesterday morning. Yikes), so please forgive me for being a little behind with the 'constructive criticism'.

Right. Blue. He's facing imenent death, then the next moment, they're saved, got control back etc. So WHY does he still look so bloody miserable!? His expression didn't change AT ALL! Somebody get Dr. Gold to prescribe him some valium!

Kudos to Dr. Kopalski for her fabulous "I'd never have guessed". One of the scriptwriters as a sense of humour, I feel...

Scarlet's gymnastics routine on those strategically placed bars was a bit odd. He doesn't strike me as the gymnastic type. An excellent piece of CGI, though.

When the satellite dish blows up, there's a piece flying straight towards the SPV (sorry, Rhino). Then the scene cuts to something else (presumably Destiny and Blue's oh-so-touching 'final' words). Next thing, the Rhino is in exactly the same place, completely unscathed. The HUGE piece of metal, however, is nowhere to be seen!

Thanks for listening to me ramble. I'll try to be less scathing next week.

Another excellent episode. With the Mysteron's able to sabotage any piece of equipment, it continues to bring up their motive continuity again. This episode had several yell out loud moments - when Scarlet turns the Rhino and out falls the Mysteron woman and, of course, when Scarlet takes the Gerry Anderson way of solving the problem, and blows up the dish!!

Animation highlights - Launch and orbiting Mercury ship
Story highlights - Black and Scarlet confrontation
Story lowlight - I wished Blue and Destiny had tried something to sabotage the ship or at least escape instead of just sitting there.

9/10

Sorry for all these posts in one sitting

I thought this expisode was top notch from start to finish. Excellent lighting and CGI as the shuttle orbits the earth, a nice contrast between action on earth and that in space, and the villain who then became a Mysteron agent was very cool - loved her karate chops in the Rhino and her amusing demise. :)

1 minus point for Blue's nauseating 'why can't we all just get along' speech.

Yeah, even Destiny - Queen of the Miserable - ticks him off for that one...
Maybe he's just spent too long reading Readers' Digest while waiting for something to do? After all - Destiny gets to be Scarlet's side-kick all the time, which does make him rather redundant.

I think Blue should have been trying to get out of the Mercury before coming up with that thought. Putting on space suits and blasting open those nice big windows would at least get them off the shuttle so that Specturm could blow it up without any hesitation. Then they could attempt to pick them up later.

The original Captain Blue might well have attempted that - but New Blue does seem to be rather... mentally challenged - Bless him... All that body building in the gym has obviously turned his brain to pure muscle....

I just wanted to chime in here and thank shadokp for the constructive reviews of the DVD episodes - glad you're enjoying them! The best thing about working on a show like New Captain Scarlet is seeing it on TV for the first time - the second best thing is seeing the response to all your hard work from the fans and the critics. Keep up the good work! :)
