I can’t imagine Blue calling Green’s father ‘Mysteron scum’ helped the cause much. He’s clearly a captain with way too much testosterone … and an unfortunate liking for cliches.

After watching Homecoming a second time I am still puzzled why Colonel White would describe Lieutenant Green as his Executive Officer. In military parlance Executive Officer (XO) is a term for the position of second in command of a base or ship. Surely he can’t have meant that. I can’t remember her title in the opening credits (something about Operations - it’s a bit blurry to read) but I’d have thought Senior Comms Officer or something like that would be closer to the mark. Lewis bounces around quite a bit which I found really annoying. In fact how all the characters walk at times can be quite silly. I prefer the puppets - less is definitely better … it's not so distracting. :)

Didn't see the end of this, but nice to see Lt Green fleshed out from the cold efficient Condelezza Rice type character she seemed like initially. The fencing was absolutely BRILLIANT. I think Gerry was trying to make up for all those original CS puppet movement limitations (point of view shots/cutting to another character as someone walks in the room/moving walkways/starting the scene with everyone sat down etc) in one fell swoop!

I rewatched this one last night...reading through all this, I don't think anyone's noticed what, for me, is the biggest goof of the series.

Lewis is reading a magazine in the isolation ward, Green goes in, they chat, and then they hug.

White and Blue leave, and Scarlet turns to chat to Dr Gold for a moment. But behind him, in the isolation ward, Lewis is back to reading his magazine again... :)

I'm sure someone here did mention it a while back.

CGI continuity seems more problematic that 'real-life' shooting, possibly because no-one is able to sit there and watch the whole production being 'filmed'.

I noticed another one in 'Instrument of Destruction pt.1' - the farmer on the tractor Scarlet hops over in his Cheetah swoons in close up as Blue approaches, but in long shot he is sitting bolt upright. Then in close up again, he is seen recovering and rising...

Saw this in full for the first time today on DVD. Thought it was excellent, action and real human emotion.

Lewis did have rather large muscles for someone who has been in a cryogenic sleep for 15 years, did his tube have a gym in it?!

This one was okay and it was good to see that the series would often turn the focus of a story to other characters like Lt. Green. The idea is old but the emotion conveyed by Jules de Jongh was enough to forget about any issues I had with the voice cast. I never picked up on any bad voice overs again.

Animation highlight - Sword fight
Story highlight - Green confronts Mysteronized Dad

6/10

Does anyone else think that the discription the Mysteron gave Green of her fathers death was a bit near the knuckle for kids TV. For me that was truely horrifying and the perfect way to show the true power of the Mysterons.

And for added yummy bonus - Colonel White whups Scarlet's ass at fencing - ya gotta love that man.
