Totally agree with Doc Brown
It was grand. I'm officially outright addicted to this series. It's gone beyond the comparison stage and really struck out as a series in it's own right.

Still confused as heck about the Angels though.
Managed to grasp that the red head was Harmony. But I thought in the pilot Harmony was blonde (kinda like the original Symphony)
Can someone help me out here?

I saw the pictures for this on captainscarlet.com and thought that it looked good from them! Apparently it was less than half the story!

Aegis, are you contracted for a third season yet?

Hey all,

I missed the first two episodes but caught all of Rat Trap and thought it was pretty damn impressive (I got a tingle of excitement down my spine just looking at those screenshots from the episode on the official site). When I actually saw it yesterday I was so impressed I chose it as my user name! This is the kind of story I always wanted to see in the original series. I should add that I'm not that big a fan of the original, in fact it's amongst the most inferior of Gerry's puppet shows, IMO. But Rat Trap was thrilling to watch, the animation seemed top notch and I loved that crash sequence at the start. Tremendous stuff.

I also appreciated little character moments like near the end where Scarlet says something about his father and his eyebrow raises itself up as he speaks (must be a graduate of the Roger Moore school of acting). Seriously, it's subtle moments like that that make the characters come alive.

On the whole I find the cgi really impressive and assuming the varied locales of the original series feature in the new one then I can't wait to see how well the cgi copes with underwater bases, raging Antarctic blizzards and thunderstorms!

Slap my wrists, I missed the first 5-10 mins of this ep, and only saw it from the point where they were already back on Mars. Personally though, I would have saved this type of story for a little later in the series, but that's why I'm not in charge of bradcast dates! And I believe someone questioned Instrument of Destruction PT1, on thinking they saw Ochre as a fella, and watching back it certainly looked that way!

Are the other characters going to feature a bit more soon? Well, Ochre, Magenta & Grey? Abd can anyone confirm for me if it was Indigo piloting a vehicle that Blue was in during IOD:P2?

A typical shoot-em-up story. I could almost imagine the Terminator in this one. This is the episode where the Rat attacks Blue for overacting. Liked the scene with Scarlet at the cliff face though.

Hi there, I'd just like to say my whole family loves Rat Trap, it's the episode my kids ask to watch more than any other. The RATS were excellent, very clever design work!!

This is the episode that I rank all others to. This episode, while the story may not be the most original, had incredible action and superb animation. Everytime I tried to 'convert' or show friends this series, I start with this one. If they were to give out a free DVD to promote the series, this would be the one to do it with. Even after watching it again, on DVD, it is virtually flawless in my book.

Animation highlight - The Rat, The shuttle crash, Scarlet travelling to save Destiny.
Story highlight - The Rat's first appearance - WOW!!

10/10

Love the animation and the mo-cap bits really added to the realism but the story is lifted wholesale from the film Red Planet staring that plank of wood Val Kilmer - except their rat is called AMIEE.

Shame cos the animation and character interaction is first class.
