Doc's Custom Angels (and some questions...)
Moderator: Spectrum Strike Force
Here are my custom NCS Angels… never thought it would happen, so cheers Bandai!
These were harder to do than the captains, partly because they’re all meant to be sort of pretty, partly on account of their tiny heads, and partly because the head sculpt on Destiny is plain FUGLY.
The good news is I have discovered Milliput, after years of messing around with Air Clay. Very liberating.
So, left to right - Destiny, Harmony, Melody, Symphony and Rhapsody:
Question ONE: Is that right? I think it must be... I haven’t seen all the episodes, but I used the rec room scene in Swarm as reference. Everyone gets a look in apart from Rhapsody, but from other threads I know she’s a tricky one to pin down. She seems to look and sound a lot like Destiny though, with a low ponytail / plait (I removed the ponytail from Destiny and re-secured it lower down and added more hair and the red hair tie). Much like Melody is the dark haired twin of Harmony.
Close Up:
More pics and questions to come - cheers, Doc

COLONEL SCARLET
So, does Captain Scarlet age? I certainly think it would be more interesting if he did. But then, the NCS series suggests that Scarlet and Black are more or less the same, physically, and Black seems to be sort of an energy construct (doesn’t he become energy at the end of Dominion?) So potentially Scarlet is a remetabolized ‘snapshot’ of his human self, or maybe he’s a complete copy (indestructible as he is), complete with a human lifespan and concomitant ageing. I’m sure this has been discussed elsewhere, but I’d be grateful for any answers…
Question THREE is very much related. Was Captain Black always indestructible in CS continuity? Obviously he has the same powers as Scarlet in NCS, but did he in the original? I never thought about him being indestructible until he healed his wounds in NCS...

For anyone who’s interested, I swapped Col White’s head for my (less ‘Col White Jr’ looking) custom version:

I'll be sure to make it clear that the 'deduce information' written on the page, is not considered official, though. Until such time we'll receive (well, IF we receive )more official information about the characters...

The above link is to a forum thread that discusses exactly what happened to Black and how he's been controlled by the Mysterons - plus his 'powers'. (In original CS)
It'd be interesting to see if anyone's ideas have changed since this discussion (originally started in 2004) - based on NCS or just through more thought / new ideas on the topic.
Its an interesting thread, and worth a read...

Told you milliput is good stuff. Incidentally, I have started using the epoxy repair putty from 151. Some Pound shops stock it. Starts curing after about 3 minutes, but sets rock hard and is just as easy to work.

ONE: Yup, looks to me like you got the girls' identities correct. Not an easy thing in NCS! Symphony, Melody and Rhapsody don't appear much (in Season 1, anyway).
TWO: You may come to regret asking this, as it's a much-debated subject. Most of us seem to agree that Scarlet either doesn't age, or ages so slowly that it would take several hundred years for him to apprach the kind of age you've depicted. The long thread is http://spectrum-headquarters.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?t=33&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15 if you're interested, or there's this little short one that's got my opinion on the matter http://spectrum-headquarters.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?t=440.
Between those of us who are scientifically minded, we've discussed many aspects of Retrometabolism from an OCS POV, but most of the hypotheses relating to the genetic changes that occured will carry over into NCS. Check out the Retrometabolism board for more info.
THREE: Again, something discussed in detail. IMHO, no, he wasn't indestructible, but taken whilst alive. I know several of the authors agree on this, but others don't, and believe that Black was fully Mysteronised on Mars. Check out the Captain Black's dilemma thread on the Mysterons' board.
FOUR: Colonel Chris beat me to this one!
You still glad you asked?

For anyone who's interested, my next project is some custom Angels of my design (well, just the heads as the bodies are identical - much easier than the Captains!)
I did two more NCS characters (below) and have done some pictures and factfiles which might hopefully find a home somewhere close by..!
Doctor Roan - Field Medic (using a Col White head)
Captain Violet (looking a little craggy/scarred that close up - ow!)

Not sure ol' Clint would be happy being violet..!
