NCS Ownership, Transmission Rights and Profits
Moderator: Spectrum Strike Force
1. Who actually owns NCS – Is it Gerry Anderson Productions, Granada Ventures, Sony Pictures, private shareholders or perhaps a combination of these?
2. Who has the broadcast rights in the UK, Europe and the rest of the world?
3. Are these broadcasting rights ‘for ever’ or is there a limit to the number of transmissions?
4. If there is a limit, can some other company, such as the BBC, bid for subsequent transmission rights?
5. If NCS cost £23 million to make, who is currently bearing these costs?
6. Whoever is bearing these costs what options are open to them to insist on more publicity, more transmissions etc?
7. I understand that Sony Pictures may have the broadcasting rights for Europe and the rest of the world but don’t appear to have arranged any deals – broadcasts, merchandise, DVD’s etc. Does nobody have the right to challenge them?
