Interviews with the cast, especially Wayne Forrester
It might be of interest for you to note that I'm currently working with David Lane and Wayne Forrester on another project (no, it's not LightSpeed )
If the forum members have any questions about New Captain Scarlet that they'd like to put to Wayne or David perhaps we could compile a list similar to the one put together for Gerry...

For David:
1. How did directing NCS compare to the supermarionation days what with the creation of sets, vehicles, characters all on the computer this time rather than being built by hand, both being painstaking processes.
2. What was the atmosphere like? Continuous pressure, fun, what were the ups and downs?
3. On the DVD commentry you say it takes around 10 weeks from start to finish of an episode. Could you briefly talk us through the process of what goes on during those ten weeks?
4. There is nothing else like this show on TV. Are you justifiably proud of what you achieved?
5. Given hindsight is there anything you would have done differently?
6. Any professional rivalry between directors and teams to do better than each other?
7. What do you think the future is for more Hypermarionation series?
8. Gerry has stated that he plans his next series - Lightspeed - to be set in space. Was this based on the popularity of some of the NCS episodes set on Mars?
For Wayne:
1. Were you familiar with classic Scarlet? Did you watch some of the DVDs to get a handle on Francis Matthews deleivery?
2. As an actor did you and the others actually start to act out any of the scenes, before or during the recording?
3. Had you worked with other members of the cast previously?
4. How many episodes did you records at one time, and over how long a period?
5. What characters did you play in Wallace and Grommit?
6. Which do you prefer - theatre, film, TV, radio/voice acting?

I saw Wayne performing in Thunderbirds FAB in a little theatre in London a few years back (still have the programme squirrelled away somewhere....), so I'd like to ask him whether, when he was running around the stage with a Thunderbird 2 on his head, he had any inkling that his role in the world of Gerry Anderson was destined to be a starring one!

1. What was your biggest challenge while working on an episode of NCS?
2. Gerry had very firm ideas about how he wanted the series to appear. How easy was it working within those guidelines?
3. Was there a steep learning curve to start with? What lessons did you learn from the early episodes that were carried over onto later episodes?
4. Did all the directors/producers share the same vision as to how the series should progress?
5. How difficult was it to keep the content of each episode suitable for the young age group the series was aimed at? What guidelines did you use?
6. What is your favorite episode and why?
I'd like to ask Wayne:
1. Did you ever change or wish you could have changed some of the dialogue?!
2. Did you and the voice cast find it hard being serious all the time while recording the lines?
3. What was the most difficult aspect of recording dialogue for NCS?
4. What is your favorite episode and why?
Thank you!!

I do wonder if it's "Thunderbirds" Chris, as Gerry is on record saying that if he could sort out some issues regarding the copywrite he would love to remake it. he did indicate it might have something to do with the copywrite and ITV.

I would like to know the answer to the following 4 questions:
1. Do you think Gerry Anderson would give his blessing to David producing either of these two series in CGI? This is assuming that these shows are not immediate priorities for Gerry, himself.
2. I understand that Gerry has been unable to get back the rights to produce Thunderbirds in CGI but does this reluctance from Granada Ventures also apply to The Secret Service and/or Joe 90?
3. Might it be possible to reuse some of the scenery, characters and props from NCS for, say, Joe 90 in much the same way as puppets and sets were reused during the Supermarionation years?
4. Finally, would David actually want to remake either of these shows even if he could?

Also, given his background as a mime artist, was Wayne ever asked to get involved in the motion capture in any capacity, either acting or advising?
I've also got a slightly cheeky one for Aegis. As he's working with David and Wayne, is he also working with Gerry?

For example, we know that Gerry is in pre-production of a series called "Lightspeed" but that's about all. Surely, it would be better to get the worldwide internet population buzzing by providing as much information and pictures as possible as soon as possible so that when it comes to marketing the series the public is ready and waiting.
Surely, the only possible reasons for an NDA are either 1) that you fear another company will make a similar thing sooner and/or better thus stealing your thunder (and profits) or 2) that you don't really feel that confident about what you are doing?
No doubt this is naive on my part but surely the biggest failing of NCS is that even now the adult public don't know about it.
Please be assured, however, that I have the very highest regard for any work done by either David Lane or Gerry Anderson and I wish them both the (great) success that they deserve.

Sorry everyone - unfortunately the production I was working on with Dave Lane and Wayne run into financial difficulties and in order for the production company to continue to make the show they had to cull some staff - sadly I got the chop and am no longer working with them.
Thanks to everyone that submitted questions though - it's been great to see so many people with an interest in the show - if I get the chance to arrange any Q+A sessions in the future with ex-NCS staff I'll be sure to let Chris know

1. What are you currently working on? (i.e. tv series, film etc.)
2. If there is a Captain Scarlet movie/film (played by 'human' actors), who would YOU consider/like to play Captain Scarlet?
3. This is probably a 'common' question, but what was it like to be 'the voice of Captain Scarlet'?
4. How do/did you feel about your character being indestructible and the others aren't?
that's madness with a little 'm'... as in 'crazy'...
