New Captain Scarlet comic (CGI series) in the work
Moderator: Spectrum Strike Force
On a personal note - I produce a local fan club newsletter supporting Doctor Who (we have lots of other stuff including a fair amount of NCS coverage thanks to me). A couple of years ago we began producing a PDF version of the newsletter that has features that the paper version cannot provide including links and full color photos. Because there are no real costs for materials on the E-issue, the only charge for getting this issue is standard membership charges, while hardcopy people pay extra for printing costs. And of course, people who have an e-issue can print it on their computer!
I would love to go all digital eventually but I understand the need to have something you can hold onto.
Wow - did I go off course there?

Yes, I use the internet to read as well, but that is the point. I use it to read.

Not entirely. The whole reason for doing the Gerry Anderson Complete Comic History as a website and not a magazine/fanzine/book (as some people have moaned to us they would have liked) was because a/ it cut out the cost of print (and I work in print management, so know how costly it is), which would have crippled us financially, b/ it meant we could update pages when we had new information and c/ it allowed us to have complete editorial control and as much colour as we wanted.

I agree that the Complete Comic History is best done as a website. You can get more information on it and update it a damn sight easier than hardcopy.
Picked up the latest issue of the magazine today. I am liking it a lot. The screen shots are clear, and the graphics in general are crisp and clean. I was a little dubious when I saw that it would be screenshots from the episodes (remembering a certain Thunderbirds comic ) but I am convinced that it is a good product after the first issue, and issue 2 only confirms this. Especially if we get any more centrefolds like the latest one.

Uh-oh.... I know of one forum member who'll be upset that she hasn't found a copy of issue 2 yet!
Does it carry on with Instrument of Destruction?
If I had the time (and the talent), I'd volunteer to draw some original stories for the comic straight away!

Marion, have you tried Tesco or Asda? They both stock it around here, but not many copies. So does my local newsagent. I think the smaller independents are stocking it over the big chains. Still not seen it in WH Smiths yet.

As they say on Highlander: There can be only one!
Yes, that is me. If you want a closer look, go to the following website and open the New Captain Scarlet folder:

Scarlet, Black, Blue and White are made from the GI Joe Depth Charge figure. Lieutenant Green is an old Star Wars Slavegirl Leia and Destiny is a GI Joe Baroness figure. They are all in 1:18 scale which is about 3 & 3/4 inches. The uniforms were all sculpted out of Milliput. Took me about two weeks to complete the set.
The original series Scarlet figures were either Han Solo Carbonite or Han Solo Endor figures and were done about twenty years ago.
