The New Series on TV
Moderator: Spectrum Strike Force
So far (and I am not finished the first view through as yet) all I can say is I don't hate it as much as I thought I would. It does make me cringe in places, and there are plotholes big enough to drop Skybase through (I will get to discussing that before too long) but overall it hasn't yet offended me to the point that I'll turn it off.
The animation's fine (I never expected otherwise) so I won't be quibbling too much about that. Nice effects, even if they do go by so fast you're not quite sure if you missed something or not.
More soon.....

PS - this has vastly amused me since I saw it, and what I'd like to see more of is Disco Deck Tech and Launch-bot - they really should learn to breakdance and do the Moonwalk.....

It'll be nice to exchange views now that you know what we're all on about on this particular part of the forum!!!

Also…I don’t know how the tech is hooked up to that thing but I also couldn’t help wondering what would happen if a wasp got into the chamber.

Plot bunny alive and kicking.
Doc Denim.
BTW - has anyone else noticed that Colonel White always says "loo-tenant" instead of "lef-tenant" ? I suppose that may be a linguistic concession to marketing in the Americas.....

I already learned one lesson re New CS - never put an episode on after watching the original Captain Scarlet for a week. The voice comparisons are just too painful.

In my collection of writing reference books I have a (well-used) copy of a book called British English A to Zed. In it is explained that the written "lieutenant" is supposedly pronounced lef-tenant in the army, and leh-tenant or lew-tenant in the navy. (Doesn't say anything about air force... )
WHICH would make sense to change it, IF White were still a Navy man. BUT, according to the website he's supposedly studied at Sandhurst...
The view from this side of the pond would be that sticking to lef-tenant would make White sound "more English," but not having seen the series yet I can't comment any further on that...
