I don't know if these links have been posted before, but if not, readers might like to see this three-part pilot for "The Investigator" which I found while browsing on YouTube this morning. "The Investigator" was a Gerry & Sylvia Anderson series that was planned in the early 1970s but which was never actually made:

Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HBp_GBHxtSM&NR=1
Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIF_bB-G9s8&feature=related
Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ks4Gx6qCjIc&feature=related

With the benefit of hindsight it's not too difficult to see why the series was never made: John and Julie doubtless received better offers to move to Hollywood and appear in those two well-known puppet action shows "The Six Million Dollar Man" and "The Bionic Woman" respectively, the starring roles of which they appear to have adopted without any obvious change in character or acting prowess.

I don't think I've ever even seen this at conventions! Ye gods, there was some dodgy acting in that... A good find, Doc.

You never know what things are hidden away! I would love to investigate the BBC Archives and see what is hidden there!!
This made me think of Land of the Giants, now there is another blast from the past :-D then again, it would be absolutely fantastic to raid Gerry and Sylvia Andersons archives.....pure treasure trove

It was interesting to see but left me wondering what were they were thinking about filing puppets in the Mediterranean! Quirky stuff but I couldn't say it had the legs for a series.

Perhaps they were just fed up of Slough?
'Julie' sounds just like Lady Penelope and 'John' like Scott Tracy... odd that.

Yes, Slough or the Mediterranean - tough one!
I love the fact that every time the miniaturised John and Julie drive that very bright red car around, theres no-one on the streets to see them.
