What next after CS:CGI?
Moderator: Spectrum Strike Force
Following the success of 'New Captain Scarlet'... scifi veteran Gerry Anderson plans a new version of 'Thunderbirds' using the same computer animation system.
The article goes on to remind people that both CS & T'birds first aired as puppet shows and says that Gerry Anderson sympathised with the problems the makers of 'Team America' admitted to when working with puppets.
So, does this mean we get the 2 'series' of CS and no more?
I wonder...?

Well technically it is just one 'series' but it's being aired as two - like 'Terrahawks'.
But there's no reason to suppose why both 'New Thunderbirds' and 'New Captain Scarlet' couldn't be in production at the same time, if the latter proves successful enough.
Here's hoping...

The other interesting part of the article was the Radio Times' assertion that new CS:CGI is 'a success'... which is good news.
BTW - it seems odd that the Radio Times - a BBC publication - has done far more to promote the new series than the TV Times - which always used to be the ITV equivalent. At least, from the scans of the magazine I've done in the supermarket - I haven't come across anything about CS in it. (I am not sure who publishes TV Times now - or under who's auspices.)
If anyone has more information on the proposed Thunderbirds CGI - I'd be interested to hear.... I can't remember an instance where Gerry Anderson had 2 of his major series in production at the same time...

Apparently, Gerry spent most of his time with the TB6 crew and left Sylvia to CS. There was a lot of speculation a while back that the new CS is the series that Gerry would have wanted in the first place.

I hope they would do the new CS and T'birds together - assuming CS continues to be 'a success'... or maybe there will be a CS film
We can hope, I guess

The Radio Times is now the only listings magazine that is effectively connected to a broadcasting channel. IPC do the TVTimes now, and while they may have a dedicated editorial team, it now longer has the ties to broadcasting from an 'inside' viewpoint.
The BBC, and their website, have among their number some dedicated cult TV fans, and have learnt to try and get the material available and accurate. They don't always succeed, but the effort is more apparent than the other listings magazines...

But now that CS:CGI is doing well perhaps Carlton will give it a green light?
